Histoire(s)

My "bestiary" includes Napoleon, Goethe, Mao Ze Dong, Ho Chi Minh and Lenin: all complex and even contradictory figures. Other characters hovering in the wings are Rosa Luxembourg, Thomas Münzer – and De Gaulle. He has been sitting patiently for over a year in a corner of the workshop.

I am neither a philosopher nor a historian.

My view of the past is strongly marked by the unorthodox analyses of Marxist thinking.  I subscribe to this, and agree with the views of Ernst Bloch, who said that true humanity is still waiting to be constructed, based on the best of the experiments tried out in objective conditions.

And then, there are the battles...
What would I have done? Would I have been afraid? I, who have never lived through a war, and know very little about death.
The issues are decidedly historical and collective: not only the "pure" violence done to individuals and animals, but also areas to be studied, and exploration in terms of modelling.
